Remarks : To, Critical Care Nursing Unit, I am writing this email with a heavy heart and deep concern to bring to your attention the distressing incident that occurred under the care of your nurses Mausumi Nandi and Sarbani Sanyal Mohani . It is with profound sadness that I must address not only the incompetence and negligence displayed by the nurse assigned to her case but also the accountability of the Critical Care Nursing Unit for assigning an unfit nurse to handle such a critical situation. First and foremost, it is evident that the night nurse, Mausumi Nandi lacked the necessary knowledge and skills to handle critical situations involving oxygen support. This lack of competence became alarmingly evident when the nurse struggled to operate the oxygen cylinder. The Nurse herself said that she doesn’t know how to operate the oxygen support and cylinders and is incompetent about its mechanics. In addition to the nurse's incompetence, it is essential to emphasize the accountability of the Critical Care Nursing Unit itself. The failure to thoroughly assess the nurse's qualifications and capabilities prior to assigning them to my grandmother's care is a grave oversight and contributes to the responsibility of the unit. Moreover, As my grandmother relied on external oxygen support, it is inconceivable that the nurse neglected to promptly notify us about the depleting supply. The morning nurse, Sarbani Sanyal Mohani should have conveyed and reminded regarding the same. The events that transpired during my grandmother's time under the care of your nursing unit have left our family devastated and filled with anguish. I implore you to initiate a thorough investigation into this matter to ensure that the responsible nurse is held accountable for their actions. It is of utmost importance that measures are put in place to prevent such incidents from occurring again in the future. I also request that you provide me with a detailed explanation of the steps being taken to address this issue and prevent a recurrence, as well as assurances that changes will be implemented to improve patient safety and quality of care within your facility. While I understand that nothing can bring my grandmother back, it is my hope that by highlighting this grave incident, we can prevent others from experiencing a similar tragedy. I expect a prompt and comprehensive response from your organization regarding the actions being taken in response to this complaint. I trust that you will handle this matter with the utmost seriousness and urgency it deserves. The welfare and safety of your patients should always be the highest priority, and it is crucial that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
